From prototype to product: what changed along the way

Our first prototype assumed drafting was mostly a solo activity punctuated by review. It is not. It is collaborative from the first paragraph.

We also underestimated how much of the work happens outside the document, in the conversations that explain why a term is written a certain way.

Rebuilding around those two observations took longer than expected and produced a far better product.
